My name is Henk Wierenga, born in Grotegast in Holland and I’m now 54 years old. In 1986 I started as a trader for different companies in Holland. Because of this I traveled much all around the world. Telex, fax and tel. were the communication recourses of that time for me.

Until suddenly I came in contact with the digital highway through a business relationship from Boston. I quickly realized that this way of communication would have a great impact on the 21st century. Since that time I followed the growth of internet closely.

Then I already had the idea to develop a trading site that would bring traders Worldwide closer together. Internet didn’t really exist in businesses back then. It only existed at universities and companies who used intranet. In 1996 I began with the development of tradeserver.
On March 19th, 1997 I launched traderserver on the worldwideweb.

The first 2 years I walked against big problems because the companies weren’t that aware of the possibilities of the internet. Tradeserver was then put on hold for the time being.

I kept myself occupied with seminars about the possibilities of the digital highway. In 2003 I launched tradeserver again with new possibilities for traders. This worked but there was a long way ahead of me. Trade-server had low activity on my side but still could be used by traders. Companies could use the facilities I offered on my site for free.

2008

Tradeserver is used, in spite of my expectations, by a large group of traders. As a consequence, the site must be adapted to the generations of traders who understand the speed and convenience of the digital highway. Since the idea we are one generation further. This is the group of traders who grew up with the internet.
